Of course, it requires a load of energy...but, all dogs MUST have outdoor free-time whether it is raining or not. Here on the OR coast, it will be raining for the next few months! So, with access to heavily-straw-bedded houses, we let the puppies frolic for an hour or two every 8-10 hours (otherwise, they are inside drying off for round 2, 3 or 4)...they very rarely choose to relax in a house/igloo so, here is how we manage sodden coats...1) we towel dry the pup 2) we back-brush with a high-qual pin brush (Chris Christensen)...3) we crate & dry at room temp with the Speedy Dryer.. We use the battery-charged Wahl to scoop out hair from inside the foot...carefully clipping TOWARDS the foot/toe pads...this alleviates a ton of mud & moisture on floors...yay! & we keep a gallon of Eqyss on-hand for a spray down every few days...we swear like sailors by it. Labeled for horses yes, but we love it for dogs as well. Do YOU have questions about topical dog treatments/preventions? Ask me! I had my own dog grooming business/storefront for more than a decade...
